I have compiled this information from many sources, including conversations with several physicians, and participating in two national and one regional facial pain conference where physicians and researchers presented a multitude of facts and current treatment overviews for facial pain disorders. I have also interviewed and befriended dozens of fellow patients who have shared their experiences with me. I review books and research about facial pain on an ongoing basis. I have also benefited from the services of an experienced editor, creator and former Webmaster for much of the Trigeminal Neuralgia Association's home page in the late 1990s. Of course, as a patient, I also have my own personal experience to inform me.
